Sweet!

My copy of Fight On! #2 arrived in the mail last night. Holt crap, but this thing is packed full of great stuff. You could totally run a decent-length campaign using your favorite set of old rules and the first two issues of this mag, because they are chock full of adventures, wilderness stuff, magic items, and monsters. The ratio of gameable stuff to miscellaneous crapola is extraordinarily high.

  1. I really need to check for my copy when I get home. I suspect it's been out in the mailbox all weekend, so hopefully it's not been soaked by tropical storm Ed.

  2. Ah, they have a website after all ... I'd been wondering.

No mention of the contest? Yeek, that thing was a massive labor for people involved (especially the 15 contestants, pretty much all of whom obviously put a ton of work into their submissions); might be nice to have a page on the site devoted to it :)

Have they settled on a fixed delay between the Lulu release and the PDF release?

  3. The website is about two days old, so all in due time...

  4. Ah, two days old explains why I couldn't find one at all when I looked a week ago :)

Yeah, looking closer I see that they don't have a page about ... anything at all, yet (not even things like submission guidelines). So, more of a placeholder for now, but here's hopin' for the future :)

  5. My copies of Fight On! 1 & 2 arrived yesterday. Sadly, they arrived a few hours late for my discussion of Retro games on my podcast (2d6 Feet in a Random Direction) - we were actually recording when they were delivered.

Back to point: I'm having a blast reading them.

Thanks so much to you (and my friend Ben Monroe) for turning me on to Fight On!

I'll make a point of discussing then when I revisit old school / retro gaming in an upcoming episode...

... when I do the report out on my two microlite20 games that I'm running at Pacificon. Forgot to thank you for turning me on to microlite20 as well ;)
