The weekend before last I drove to Springfield, IL. That's about a 3 hour round trip. My only company was a pair of CDs, one Blue Oyster Cult and one Black Sabbath. I played both discs all the way through, but this song and "Heaven and Hell" got an extra four or five plays each.
A Return to the Stars

After a veeeeerrrryyyy long, and mostly unplanned, hiatus, Stuart and I got
together to play more Stargrave in recent days. It was good! It was also a
bit ...
That's a TERRIBLE video!
ReplyDeleteHere's an acid folk version of "Flaming Telepaths" I really dig: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyWQvdM1Tw4
ReplyDeleteFor a truly phasic experience play 'em both at once.
That's a TERRIBLE video!
ReplyDeleteThere's at least one nifty video for Flaming Telepaths on youtube, but it used a live recording and the sound quality was crap.
Dude, this is my favorite BOC song, from the crazy piano opening to the great lyrics to the give-and-take between piano and guitar during the bridge.
ReplyDeleteThose first three BOC albums are rock-solid classics. Even my girlfriend adores them.
Saw them a few months back in Ridgefield, CT, and they've still go it. Did everything from Secret Treaties save this tune and Astronomy (sigh).
I'm more partial to ME262, Career of Evil and Astronomy off of Secret Treaties, but Flaming just fine.
ReplyDeleteI've noticed that a lot of the older games are BOC fans. I think next time the Oyster Boys play around these parts, I might have to bring flyers announcing the Dungeon Not Yet Named. May dig up more players than a flyer at the local hobby shop...
We went through BOC during our 'Top Secret' phase. Sabbath's Heaven and Hell remains a personal favorite.
