This one goes out to all my Encounter Critical pals

Found on Space:1970, a great resource for EC type fun.

  1. I think the robot with a flintlock musket was my favorite.

  3. @bighara: Seconded. No question.

    WV: "strapa" Usage: "Before you send your robot out to patrol the crash site, strapa musket to him."

  4. "I've been chosen by the gods..."

    Vic Morrow was COMMITTING to that scene!

    ...and I want glowing icecubes for my space-scotch.

  5. ++Awesome.

    It looks like it was also ripping off "Seven Samurai", alongside Corman's classic "Battle Beyond The Stars" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_beyond_the_stars)

  6. I loved this movie when I was young. It got a lot of airplay on Showtime, probably around '81.
    I was so enthralled by this movie that I carefully split open several walnuts to fashion space-seed necklaces just like the ones worn by the heroes.
    I wanted to share the wonder of this movie with my cousin, and as it began, I gave her one of my special necklaces. About 10 minutes into the movie, she turned to me and asked, "So, they're supposed to kill the bad guys with their nuts?"

    I was crushed.
