A Return to the Stars
-
After a veeeeerrrryyyy long, and mostly unplanned, hiatus, Stuart and I got
together to play more Stargrave in recent days. It was good! It was also a

You Are Here
Hopefully you can follow the way the graphic below snakes around to get from upper left to bottom right. My apologies for the file size.

Delightful...
ReplyDeleteVery neat, but what will really be impressive is when you do that for every part of your universe! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty damn cool.
ReplyDeleteYou should add one more graphic of the interior of the Keep, zooming into a close up of the tavern. Adventuring on the microscopic level...
That's what I call a complete cosmology.
ReplyDeleteAs a matter of fact, what is that that planar map before Azathoth? Should I be suitably embarassed not to recognize it?
You've really outdone yourself, Rients.
ReplyDeleteZewihander, if I'm not mistaken, that's a graphic of the Outer Planes configuration from one of the very early issues of The Dragon. I believe it was reprinted in Best Of #1. The title was something like "What's this? Modern art in The Dragon?"
ReplyDeleteChills.
ReplyDeleteI like how you included Sidri, Mystara, Aldrazar, and a bunch of other awesome planets in there.
ReplyDeleteAnd frickin' KRULL!
You are my role model.
ReplyDeleteI like the fact the world is sitting on a Labyrinth Lord rulebook :-)

ReplyDeleteThanks! To be honest, I should probably be embarassed that I recognized it instantly as a planar map, huh? :D
Bah, let the geek flag fly.
So is that swamp to the south of the keep - is that the Bigars Swamp or "bigass swamp"?
ReplyDeleteIt works either way, but I'm curious.
About the planes - is that from a magazine or the one in the PHB, colored with color pencils?
That's the Bigass Swamp and the planes are scanned from the Gygax article as reprinted in Best of Dragon vol I.
ReplyDeleteMy comment isn't specific to this post. I've just been reading your blog for a while now, and I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy it. I come from a really similar gaming background (I love the old stuff, especially Erol Otus - give me more!) and even though I prefer 2nd ed myself over OD&D, I love your passion for it. Keep preachin that old school love!
ReplyDeleteAwesome. But now you need a Ravenloft-style cross-section of a particular tower in the castle, a dungeon map for a particular floor within that tower, and another close-up dungeon map focusing on a particular square with a piece of furniture, showing the PCs have been shrunk down and are fighting on chessboard a la Dungeonland or Land Beyond the Magic Mirror.
ReplyDeleteI like it!
