'Darth Viraxis, say hello to my little friend.'

The Star Wars Heromachine toy solved a problem for me. I needed a character sketch for one of my PCs for my upcoming Encounter Critical con event. Check her out:

    Horrox: According to a postcard I just recieved from Hank, he believes that it looks exactly like his own illustration style and is thus perfect for EC use.

    Of course, he also thinks he writes exactly like Michael Moorcock ("but with a little more attention to the science"), and his friends are too nice to tell him otherwise.

    S. John, I hope Hank is doing well. Did he say if he'd be able to make it to my con game? I'm sure I could make room for one more. The con staff gets annoyed when judges do that, but I can probably make it happen for the actual designer of the game.

    horrox, in my opinion the worst thing you can do to old school play is to take it too seriously. I'm not a fan of most of St. Paul's games, but his GM advice "for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life." has always been a personal touchstone.

    If Hank were to attend the con I think you'd have a hard time peeling him away from any miniatures wargame tables.

    Well, unless you made noises like you'd be willing to read his novels. He carries a few with him in the car.

    Nice old dude, though, that's my point. And those layers of buttons on his denim vest would stop a small-caliber round, no trouble.
