"I don't like going inside banks...

That's got to be a jar of pennies.

That last line just cracks me up.  From Corinne Mucha's contribution to I Saw You..., a comics anthology based upon the Missed Connections section of craigslist.

  1. Guh! Ever had to go to the bank, the pharmacy and the Post Office in the same day? I wonder if in 40 years I'll be spending my 'golden years' making younger people miserable by using the last few hours I have left on earth to dither over whether to get Elvis or Eisenhower on my first class stamps...

  2. Feeling nostalgic?

  3. The old guy in the line could have been my grandfather - he loved his weekly trip to the bank, it was his big social outing and I'm sure he took his time paying all of his bills, and scrutinizing his accounts balances. And undoubtedly drove everyone in line behind him insane. Sweet.

  4. Oh yeah. The bank I go to in order to make the deposits for the company I work for is just a block or so away from a retirement community. Half these old farts practically come in with life support strapped onto them, in wheelchairs/walkers, etc., It's insane. I feel myself aging while waiting in line. If I ever get that old, I'll have enough sense to walk into heavy traffic...
