Mince Pie Fest 2024: M&S Collection
-
I do not like the pastry on these mince pies at all. AT ALL. Crunchy and
far too sugary (which doesn't help with the crunch), I suppose at least
it's not t...

Middle-aged men may not be the target demographic.
ReplyDeleteThen again...
I could almost see myself running it for my wife...
ReplyDelete...what? Why are you looking at me like that?
Yeah, I wish I could explain it as yet another to reach the "elusive" female gamer.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, that RPG is just the logical progression of the ramp-up on that comics blog of busty Jane Wiedlin cyborgs, Japanese maids and ice-cream-sucking statuettes.
I would play it.:) Not for very long, but for a few sessions. Anyone remember "Macho Women with Guns"?
ReplyDeleteThe answer's in the product description: "St Erisian", "chaos"...
ReplyDelete...Fnord, yo.
too close to home.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've read its sort of Teenagers from Outer Space meets Porky's. PG 13 teen sex comedy meets mad science and low humor in a British girl's school. There are even 2 movies i beleive
ReplyDeleteDude, it's pretty blatantly a St. Trinian's RPG. It's like you're not even intimately familiar with English young adult literature!
ReplyDeleteComes in a 6x9 format. Must be good!
ReplyDeleteThis would incorporate into my Dark Champions game very nicely!
ReplyDeletewv: "tuangsgu" good name for an old one. Write it down!
At first glance I thought it sounded "Japanese". But, reading description it sounds like Buffy, Charmed, and a bunch of other Teen Angst / Mayhem / Horror TV shows and movies.
ReplyDeleteKind of meh and not that weird/unusual.
Some circle of hell has to feature playing this with a number of overweight, coquettish neckbeards in Sailor Moon cosplay.
ReplyDeleteYeah it sounds like St. Trinian's meets GURPS IOU. Could be a blast.
ReplyDeleteI blame the Witch Girls.
ReplyDeleteThat's nothing.
ReplyDeleteGoogle "Maid RPG".
Oh, japan!
Ooh, that Thatcher picture was scary. You can't keep a good demon queen down...
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter-sploitation game?
ReplyDelete@Daddy Grognard: I remember reading an old comic about Thatch at school. It was some heavy-handed allegory about the Flaklands, and about how Mrs T was just as bad as the junta (m'kay).
Of course, I gave not a toss about the politics when there were full colour spreads of a giant, union jack-emblazoned Mecha-Thatch destroying armies and fleets. It rocked despite itself.
Cappadocius and Dr. Rotwang are correct, guys. It's a serial-numbers-filed-off version of a very popular line of British novels and movies. No big whup!
ReplyDelete-clash
Long time lurker, but this is the second bit of minor outrage/interest I've seen for a game that immediately made me think "Oh, St. Trinian's only probably not able to do it as well as the Best Friends RPG." Since somebody already linked St. Trinian's, I'll link Best Friends. I haven't had the chance to play it yet but it sounds really interesting, especially the chargen.

I own Maid, too. Jeff should LOVE Maid, since it's 95% random tables.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I could run an old-school dungeon crawl (with some animu set-dressing, granted) using Maid.
It has both things nerds like: Harry Potter, and pretending to be hot schoolgirls.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you would roll up an ugly schoolgirl. I mean, somebody has to get stuck with the occasional 3 CHA!
ReplyDeleteAnother RPG in the same vein is Panty Explosion, wherein you play psychic Japanese schoolgirls battling homework monsters and hallway heartbreak. Odd stuff.
ReplyDeletetotally flippin' awesome. i'd play that.
ReplyDeleteYep - very definately an unofficial St. Trinians RPG - right down to the obsession with hockey.
ReplyDeleteThose of you interested in ST TRINIANS - the "Animal House" of British private schools for girls can check out the five movies available for free download right here:

Whether or not it's as good as "Best Friends" or "Panty Explosion" remains to be seen - although "Panty Explosion" seems to have a lot more of a Japanese flavour to it.
