Three Wizards Making Magic

This is a sad image for me in many ways as only one of these wizards remains among us.

Odd as this may sound, I owe as much of my gaming style to Jim Henson as I do Gary Gygax.

I presume you saw this morning's BoingBoing article on the shameful early years of the Muppets? Shilling coffee with violence Jim? For shame!

Chris, I had not seen that article, but I've seen the commercials themselves and they crack me the hell up.

Help to the ignorant here...

Jim Henson, Frank Oz, and... ?

I have no idea.

Does that mean you don't drink Wilkins, Chris?

Chris, that's Richard Hunt, the creator and voice actor of Scooter, Janice, and Stadtler, and the first voice of Miss Piggy. He should be as famous as Henson and Oz.

My favorite Muppet commericals are the Munchos ones and those featuring the La Choy Dragon. When I was a kid that Dragon used to freak me out but I couldn't wait to see it again.

As for the young man with Henson and Oz, yes, that's Richard Hunt. Along with Jerry Nelson and my man David Goelz (the voice of Gonzo the Great), Hunt was one of the primary puppeteers during the Muppets' heyday. He is sorely missed.

I have three major areas of interest - RPGs, Dogs and the Muppets. Ok, I have one other but those are the ones that count for the purpose of this discussion.

And Richard Hunt tragically died in 1992. Miss Henson and Hunt very much as the Muppets were special to me (and many others) when young.

Thank you.

Love the image Jeff -- thank you so much for posting this.

In completely unrelated news, have you seen this?

It's a bit of a laundry list but the animation made me chuckle.
