Where can I sign up for the Kitchen Sink Coalition?
Credentials: Ran RIFTS campaign for over 3 years that definitely went to eleven, and if my group's pestering to run it again is any indication, possibly 12.
*Speaker: Ummmm...thank you? Now, if you all don't mind, we'll be taking a vote. Um...well, wait, I've just been handed a note. Apparently the Rifts party, the SenZar Party, the Encounter Critical Party, and the Synnibar Party have merged to form the Kitchen Sink Coalition, and wish to propose an alternate resolution (unfolds piece of paper, blinks confusedly). This just says "more lasers".
Kitchen Sink Coalition: HUZZAH!!!*
I fail to see how that wouldn’t be the greatest political faction of all time. Regular earmarks are for infrastructure and boring local initiatives. KSC earmarks would be for Bear Cavalry Laser Mount Research. I am so down for this.

The Kitchen Sink Coalition rides again! Superb!
ReplyDeleteThey showed up in my RPG World Congress, I know that:

Here was my original quote:
*Speaker: Ummmm...thank you? Now, if you all don't mind, we'll be taking a vote. Um...well, wait, I've just been handed a note. I am sorely tempted to put the Kitchen Sink Coalition piece on a t-shirt. Too awesome!
ReplyDeleteMy credentials include three or four RIFTS campaigns, two years of TORG and decades of kitchen sink D&D type stuff.
Oh, and when I was 9, I wanted to move to Barrier Peaks. Forever.
Jeff, where did you get that asian-garbed, katana-weilding mind flayer pic from? Inquiring minds want to know!
ReplyDeleteI believe that's from OA2: Night of Seven Swords.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's not a Mind Flayer, it's a... Krakentua? Kind of a scaled-down Cthulhu with proportionately less eldritch madness.
Ohhh...something to mine for Ruins & Ronin perhaps? :)
ReplyDeleteWould have to get it a propper Japanese name though. Krakentua sounds lame.
Yes! Kitchen Sink Coalition Represent!
ReplyDeleteWould have to get it a propper Japanese name though. Krakentua sounds lame.
