Broodmother Sky Fortress videoblog

If what I'm saying here makes sense, please consider pledging for the Broodmother Sky Fortress crowdsourcing campaign.

  1. What if what you're saying is confusing and a little terrifying? Who do I donate to then?

  2. Completely awesome concept, Jeff. I approve and wish the project well.

  3. A minor nitpick/tip:

    0.- It's really hard to understand what are you saying because of the background noise.

    1.- You should record using the camera microphone and another one closer to you (if you've got a smartphone, you can place it casually on the table in front of you).

    2.- Start recoding with both devices, do not try to start recording with both of them at the same time, it's not worth it.

    3.- Once the devices are recording, clap your hands, wait a few seconds and start talking.

    5.- When you are editing the video search for the clap and use it as a cue to sync audio and video.

    ;-)

  4. You're already ahead of Monte Cook and the dude from Gwar! That RULES.

  5. There really wasn't that much noise in this but I did crank the volume to full blast on my laptop. I intend to pledge but this video definitely would have sparked more interest if I had been "on the fence."

    The video did end just as your introducing Godzilla meets Bambi though.

    Monte who?

  6. I listened to it twice on my lunch break!

    Plus, nothing against the other guys involved, BUT HOLY SHIT JEFF IS STOMPING EVERYONE ELSE'S BUTTS INTO THE MUD!

    By my mathematical analysis of the campaigns Jeff is worth over TWO Montes & G'war dude!

  7. Also, I love that this was filmed while dawn was breaking and birds were chirping.

  8. I was already inclined toward your entry into this fray, but now knowing that it's CLOUD GIANTS I am absolutely going to have to do it. I'd been thinking about what a cloud giant G-series module would have looked like, and now I don't have to. ;)

    1. To clarify: these giants live in the clouds but don't expect be-robed clubwielders like in the Monster Manual.

    2. I am of the opinion that the MM was a presentation of one particular set of implementations of game mechanics for various mythological entities. Cloud giants, to me, refers to giants that live in the clouds (whether on actual floating clouds or mountain tops is a matter for the presentation). You know, the guy(s) that Jack fought at the top of the beanstalk. Fee fi fo fum and all that. The specifics in the MM are only one way to approach describing those.

  9. Executive summary:

    * cloud castle ecosystem (AC9 Book of Wondrous Inventions) +
    * the giant episodes of paizo's Rise of the Runelords +
    * WFB-style non-standard giant attacks +
    * E6 'fight smarter' mentality +
    * Rientsian madness galore

  10. I am in. I got to say, though, I really wish Raggi wasn't bound and determined to print all 19 adventures at once, or nothing. It doesn't really make much sense and seems to tilt the whole endeavor toward a probable fizzle. (Why not just pop a module out every four months or so, the better to get everybody funded? The previous modules would work as advertisements for the following.) Oh well... here is to hoping that someday I will have a copy of Broodmother Sky Fortress on my gaming table!

    1. Reading a little closer, I see I got that wrong. Whichever adventures get enough funding are the one to get printed... this is good.
