In the distant future scientists discover trace amounts of super-DNA imbued in the ink of an ancient scroll. The genetic material is reconstituted into four brave young volunteers, who use their newfound powers to battle the enemies of humanity. They are...
KISS 3000!
Starchild! Space Ace! Catman! The Demon! ...fighting to protect Planet Terra from menaces interstellar and transdimensional... fighting for the power of Rock and Roll!
I am not in the least ashamed to say that KISS -- in a few different incarnations, all with funky powers or at least weird -- has cropped up in virtually every campaign I've run X3
ReplyDeleteNot as PCs yet, though, alas.
memories . . .
ReplyDeletenow to find my old

That's as awesome as me putting the stars of 80's WWF against the zombie apocalypse!
ReplyDeleteBig thumbs up!
And now I'm wanting to find the movie they did about the Phantom of Central Park.
@taichara
ReplyDeleteYou sound like my kind of GM. Once I had KISS make a guest appearance in a generally zany campaign of T&T -- one of the PC's was a drug smuggler who could talk to squids -- and it killed the game. Obviously it made the game too awesome for the players to handle. Obviously.
WV: gonder Isn't that where Aragorn is from?
Reminds me of Hezbollah! In which you fight for the forces of rock against the evil legions of disco.
ReplyDeleteAnd they fight the Juggalos...
ReplyDeleteI came across some KISS minis several months ago. Fantabulous!
ReplyDeleteCan even KISS 3000 save Christmas?
ReplyDeleteKISS 3000 vs. The Martians!
ReplyDeleteNow I feel ike watching KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Kiss 3000 can pit thier might against these villains....

For a long time, outstanding artist Adam Black (whom you may know from Talislanta's Midnight Realm sourcebook, and his current awesometastic comic "Locus") worked on a webcomic called KISS 4K. It was based on a comic book but eventually the comic stalled and the webcomic soared on, till some random business decision caused it to end (I believe Adam's paychecks stopped showing up, mysteriously...)

GWAR also had their own comic book, that was done in an underground style. If they "donated" some of their "DNA" to that production, its best not to think too hard on that... or touch the books for that matter! XP
ReplyDeleteglam makeup and platform boots are genetically transmitted? Who knew?
ReplyDeleteOf all the products they have endorsed, I am surprised there hasn't been a KISS RPG.
ReplyDeleteAfter all, we wanted the best, we should get the best.
