taking a blogging break (obviously)

work + new school + family life + upcoming convention + moody musings over the shallowness of the blog medium (or at least how I use it) = no blogging, at least for a while

stay groovy, folks

  2. It's because you don't rant enough, Jeff!

If you did, I'm sure you'd feel a lot better about the value of blogging ;)

  3. hmmmmmmmmmmm...Jeff...your blog is like Stan's Soapbox or those Roger Moore essays at the beginning of Dragon. We don't know what'll be there. Maybe a lot, maybe a little, but it starts the day off right. You go: Oh yeah, this is fun, games are fun, games are good...now what's going on at... 4. @Jeff:
Return stronger than ever!(And bring us back some cool stuff! ;-)) Seriously, I enjoy this blog, it's one of my starter pages in my browser. No lie.
Enjoy yourself! We'll just be right here.(I'm still reading thru the Archives of Awesome, myself.)

I know right? Actually, his rants are kick-ass, but rare. And totally right on spec.

    @Zak S:
Wow, I was thinking Roger E. Moore's(Jeff and him have a similar sense of fun, I think.) Editiorials myself! Stan's Soapbox? Ya, totally fits...

  6. It's official: Jeff is the Roger E. Moore of the blogosphere.

This was one of two blogs that inspired me to start my own. Like Jay says, we'll be here when you get back.

  10. Take your time. Your posts are always worth the wait.

(Oh, yeah. I believe I said it before, but I want to mention it again--your posts on Star Wars rekindled my affection for the franchise. I'd all but sworn it off after Episode 1, but your enthusiasm made me appreciate not only the original film all the more, but also the whole "vibe" that went with being 6 years old when the flick hit big. Thank you for that.)

  11. Awww. Oh well, time for a recharge. Come back better than you were before. Better . . . stronger . . . faster . . . able to make bizarre cranking sounds as you slowly jump to the top of roofs.

  12. Everyone needs to recharge once in a while. This is my favorite gameblog bar none, I wouldn't want to see it go away!

Jeff, your blog is the blog from which I check others, and Under Xylarthen's tower is the reason that I decided to go back to older editions. If you need to take a break that's one thing, but don't sell yourself short. You are one of my heroes, and I'm not being shitty, or facetious, or anything.

  17. Everybody needs a vacation but don't disappear on us! Convention = new material.

  18. While I poke randomly at blogs when someone links to them, and there are a couple of blogs (like Rotwang's) that I try to check regularly when I remember to, this is the only one I follow regularly and without fail.

I think it's because you do it wrong. A blog is supposed to be vacuous rambling about someone's thoughts and moods ... but you treat your blog like an old-fashioned homepage, complete with actual content. Here, people get not just your thoughts, but your WORKS. You put STUFF on your blog, and I think that breaks some kind of blogging law. You are a renegade master of the form (the only one I know of).

So enjoy your vacation, but then get your keister back in gear, lest the blogosphere be nothing but a bleak wasteland of I'm-feeling-mopey-today and here's-my-strident-political-opinion and celebrity-x-looks-stupid-in-this-aqua-minidress-I-guess-things-just-go-to-hell-when-you're-not-governor-of-California-anymore.

    Will miss ya.

Rest up and we hope to see you back here, feeling great and kicking butt!

    Thanks for what you do.
