even more liberry comics

Yesterday I took my daughter to the local library. She slowed down from tearing hell through the place just long enough for me to grab a couple of comic books. Nightwing: Year One is a nice little tale detailing what Dick Grayson did after that whole 'boy wonder' gig didn't quite work out as planned. After the Bat fires him the first guy he seeks out is a bud of his named Clark Kent. You may have heard of him. Anyway, as Clark and Dick are chilling in the Fortress of Solitude coversation turns to Nightwing, one of Krypton's superheroes from many centuries ago. Dig this nifty shot of the original Nightwing: The existence of a superhero operating on Krypton hundreds of years ago raises all sorts of interesting questions. Were there other superheroes on Krypton? Did they fight Kryptonian villains? This guy looks a lot like an alien Batman, was there a Kryptonian Wonder Woman as well? And if so, does anyone have pics?

I also picked up Aaron McGruder's a Right to be Hostile, the Boondocks collection that spans the run-up and aftermath of the 2000 presidential election. Great stuff. It's saying something that I couldn't put this book down while I was watching the wrestling show.

  1. Aren't comics from the library great? I just picked up Batgirl: Year One, JSA: Black Vengence, Fables: Homeland and The Legend of Grimjack Volume 4. Great stuff.
