I've just updated my module, fixing a couple mistakes spotted by the masked delver and a few I spotted myself. I also tried to clean up some layout issues. Most importantly, I added a page at the end giving my halfbaked chargen rules, including the random xp chart that calithena called "brutally OD&D".

UPDATE: I just uploaded a hopefully final version of the module. Turns out I forgot to embed the dang fonts! I wish I had discovered this before I took the file to Kinkos and had them print me a copy. Oh, well.

ReplyDeleteHey Jeff. What a simple but brilliant character generation system. Inspired while at work I cracked open my excel random number generator and came up with the following:
ReplyDeleteStr 12 Int 12 Wis 15 Dex 7 Con 9 Ch 7
I decided cleric as class and rolled a 16 for xp, making him 6th level! Three more quick rolls and he had 110gp, a random potion but no other magic item. Finally a roll of 6d6 for hp got him 25. At this stage all I would need to do is spend 5 minutes buying equipment and good to go. Character ready in 10 minutes flat. If only I had someone to run my character through this excellent dungeon :-)
Oh, I guess this feller needs a name. He shall be Celtar of the RCC (reliable cleric company).
So, how does your idea of smaller dragons fit in with your dungeon? I really like the idea of a horse-size dragon- with the two hatchlings being about the size of large dogs. It's always funny when a party gets their but kicked by something small :)

ReplyDeleteIt doesn't really. I only started thinking about dragon size after writing this dungeon. The only thing I know for certain was that the two young dragons are small enough to fit through standard dungeon doors. You know, so they can get the PCs.

Oh man! We missed a metric ton of the awesome in that dungeon! Also, I love your mention of the Hand of Vecna. I know if I was holding hands with Vecna and I came upon that statue, I would not be able to resist. Its like a shiny red button with a Do Not Press sign over it.
