I'm not a big fan of all the various themed Monopoly sets out there. The original Atlantic City version is just fine by me. But a while back I got a Star Wars set as a gift. I hadn't played it in years, but my daughter has taken a liking to it recently. Anyway, here are some of the cards from the Chance and Community Chest equivalents.

I dunno, it seems like if you get to be a Grand Moff, the other players ought to have to pay YOU, know what I mean?
ReplyDeleteMy thought was that the position requires bribery to achieve.
ReplyDeleteI'm just not being a Moff until I understand what a Moff really is. It still strikes me as some kind of sneaky (and non-complimentary) double-entendre :)
ReplyDeleteBut to be fair, my brain just works that way.
I always thought Moff was the english word for Mufti. It seems the english word for Mufti is mufti after all.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm enough of a SW geek to know where the word really comes from (reference to WWII slang for the German higher-ups ... I can't remember if it's from France or Belgium or whatever, but somewhere ...), but it's just such a goofy word. If someone was introduced to me as a "Grand Moff" I'd just giggle and get executed.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, that would be better than living in a world with rattail Jedi [who look like they're dressed for a NASCAR event], midichlorians, and Gungans.
Mine was damaged when water leaked into the storage bin under the window seat in our bedroom. I has been thrown away, sadly...but I kept the minis and the swanky coins.
