    Actually mustaches are fairly standard issue in Japanese helmets too.

    I have a couple of museum catalogs from Japan and it looks like that NY show is only scratching the surface of the weird stuff they wore.

    There are some similarly awesome German gothic armors out there too with goblin faces and horns.

    Seems impractical. That mustache is just begging to be hooked with a polearm.

    On the other hand, that looks like an Edward Gorey character rendered in steel.
