That is actually some pretty solid advice. Sometimes a caravan that needs to be protected from lizard men is just a caravan that needs to be protected from lizard men.
I'm dropping the whole series in every night on Insomniac Theater over at Classic Realms of Adventure (for gamers who just can't shut it down). The racial profiling eps are excellent :)
(and my captcha word is enullim-laxative or sleep aid?)
I find "Keep it simple, stupid" is always good advice. Also, avoid double-crossing NPCs unless it's naturally emergent from play, ie the PCs have actually screwed somebody over and the NPC wants revenge, or it's an Evil campaign and the PCs hang out with fellow scumbags. Otherwise 99.9% of the time it should be on the up-and-up. It's slightly ironic given DB's picture of EGG on the wall, that the princess-is-actually-a-succubus meme was recurrent in Gygax's work, almost as common as hermits and mad kings.

Whoa damn! I think this weekend's adventure just got simpler...and more badass. Thanks Dungeon Bastard!
ReplyDeleteA+++. Would watch again.
ReplyDelete(Spamwatch word: Pring. Perhaps the singular of Pringle?)
That was awesome. All those frustrated novelists writing adventures for Paizo should take note.

ReplyDeleteOh no, he's stealing Tavis's business model!
