Mr. 'Tis the season

'A ouija board? How about a nice football insteas, fool?'

In case you are too young to remember this surreal incident in U.S. history, please note it is First Lady Nancy Reagan sitting on Mr. SanTa's lap there. The oddness of the eighties knows no bounds.

From the looks of it, I'm guessing that no matter what you ask SanTa for, you're getting a Mr. T doll.

  2. I remember when this happened. My grandfather, who was an old-school segregationist, had a complete and utter fit.

  3. The 1980s is why time travel is illegal and scientists are working around the clock to make it impossible

  4. Hehe, the 1980's were such a wacky time. As an unrepentant child of the 80's, I'm sure it explains a lot about my personality.

  5. That rocks. I bet her new Mr. T action figure will be a present for the President to play with in the Oval Office. Nice one, Jeff.

  6. I wonder if the Mr. T doll is on display in the Regan Presidential Library?

    Nancy Reagan and T.

What other cool combos have there been?

  9. Good times. And to make all you other children of the 1980's feel old, my 11-year old daughter is having an '80s themed birthday party in a few days. Yeah - the 80's are now old enough to be a party theme, complete with commercially produced plates and napkins.

  10. The First Lady in this picture looks a little too much like one of those creepy marionettes. You know the kind that came to life in 80s horror movies and cut you open.

  13. It must be shock: despite the utter absurdity of this photo, I can't help but be vexed by a silly thing: why are Mr. T's boots held together with tape?

Christopher B: Mr. T wore stuff like that on purpose, because he was a role model, and he didn't want kids who were so poor they HAD to dress like that to feel bad.
