Three parts of Mr. Lizard's review of Booty and the Beasts (featuring Erol Otus) are now up. Check it out: part 1, part 2, part 3.
Fight On! #10 is out in both print and PDF! I guess that piece I meant to send in on Tom Moldvay's modules will appear here instead. If I ever finish the dang thing.
Just a quick note that that's all current parts; we still have Demons, Parasites, Robots, and "The Booty" -- Magical Items and Technological Items -- to go.
ReplyDeleteIf people are enjoying this, I can also do a look through the companion volume, a book of spells entitled "The Necronomican", (That's "can", not "con") featuring everything from the Perilous Parasite to Thoth-Amon's Organ Request, and great Erol Otus art, including the illustration for a spell called "The Benign Boots" which simply must be seen.
I think dental fillings were invented in the early 1800s, so the "implied setting" of Booty and the Beasts is certainly not medieval (or even Renaissance for that matter).
ReplyDeleteI've thought for awhile that the 1850s would be a cool D&D setting, since that's the temporal time-frame of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
@Geoffrey -- the "Gas Bag Neck People" graphic has a jet plane zooming by, so I think the "implied setting" is best summed up as "Dude, whatever." :)
