That Harlot table totally confused us as kids, because we didn't know what a "harlot" was, and none of the other terms made sense, either. Among mostly understandable other terms for professions, it was almost a "gibberish encounter table."
ReplyDeleteI knew a couple of key words, so I figured out what the table was. It certainly expanded my vocabulary! To this day, I can't think of some of those nouns without the adjectives automatically attaching themselves.
ReplyDeleteWe looked those words up, and while the Rich Panderer didn't seem to make any sense, the Wealthy Procuress seemed like the best roll possible to us, as such a person could easily hook you up with anyone from 01 - 90 without a problem, and we didn't want a 91 or 92 anyway.
