Just visionary.

And keep in mind that the First Crusade took place about 40 years before the events of the Anarchy - if I were to run this setting, I could easily visualise having say the Cup and Talisman of Al Akbar hidden away in some dungeon beneath Exonbury.

Just one question: why drop the cleric? In many ways, the world of a Surfeit of Lampreys seems better designed for the standard D&D Cleric than most role playing worlds.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7652921.post-42202159418092781172010-11-12T06:02:12.999-06:002010-11-12T06:02:12.999-06:00It's a slightly odd map but as far as I can se...It's a slightly odd map but as far as I can see you could call it 1hex=15m and not have any issues. That would leave you with three five mile hexes per map hex.

Don't forget that you can save screen shots in GoogleEarth.Nagorahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04934827653905274555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7652921.post-69688509691708986952010-11-10T19:16:54.893-06:002010-11-10T19:16:54.893-06:00Your blog post reminded me of the hilarious expres...Your blog post reminded me of the hilarious expression "lie back and think of England," which is about something entirely different than gaming.Rogers Cadenheadhttp://workbench.cadenhead.org/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7652921.post-34712282624482958132010-11-10T01:17:41.424-06:002010-11-10T01:17:41.424-06:00Being a fan of Thomas Hardy, and growing up only a...Being a fan of Thomas Hardy, and growing up only a few miles from Casterbridge, I can't wait to see how this turns out.Cthimothyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01072724148921908688noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7652921.post-3247459647335482242010-11-09T14:35:42.289-06:002010-11-09T14:35:42.289-06:00Love those wargame maps. This one has some nice period feel much like Kingmaker's.

I know you want to play a relatively straight historical-ish game, but I always thought that SPI's troll vs. fairies wargame Albion would make for a slick campaign map: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/521587/albion-land-of-faerieChris Kutalikhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01414743509426875792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7652921.post-39863926548538975892010-11-09T13:57:36.057-06:002010-11-09T13:57:36.057-06:00The lower map is about 250 miles across, with eigh...The lower map is about 250 miles across, with eighteen hexes, so each hex is about 14 miles across.
