And even then I can be talked out of it. But I hate clerics, so what do I know?Jeff Rientshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17493878980535235896noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7652921.post-63794944827063911392007-11-01T13:33:00.000-05:002007-11-01T13:33:00.000-05:00"I like Savage Worlds a lot. When I think "Basic" I think of "Dwarf" as a class. I'd probably also stick with either Moldvay or Metzner Basic instead of using either, unless I had players who insisted on having their own books for some reason.

Also, Thouls are completely awesome and I have no idea why they never made an upgraded Thoul for 3e. We get an entire book just for Drow and we can't get one measly Troll/Ghoul/Hobgoblin hybrid? Labyrinth Lords has race=class (at least for demihumans) like in D&D Basic.
Personally, I prefer Moldvay basic to either, just because it's SO simple and easy to run, but I'm glad for both of these efforts as they provide lots of great compatible campaign material.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7652921.post-67348685196423921312007-10-24T12:15:00.000-05:002007-10-24T12:15:00.000-05:00Basic Fantasy is good stuff in my book.
